London hardcore band, Carnal Era came together together through their mutual love and appreciation of hardcore, math rock, post rock and screamo. The band have some exciting times ahead, with plenty of shows announced and their first official release due later in the year. Be prepared!

Introduce yourself! Who are you and where did it all begin?
We’re from Watford and we formed because there is a distinct lack of hardcore there that needs fixing.
How would you describe your sound in just 3 words?
Awkward, Obscene, Spasmodic
What has been your biggest highlight as a band so far?
Someone who witnessed our set once told us we ‘Still weren’t as shit as Floods.’
Looking back at every song you’ve ever written as a band, which is your favourite to play and why?
Our favourite song is ‘The Baron and Archduke Need a Hobby’ because it’s got a funky bit in the middle that makes all the girls in the venue rub up against each other.
If you could play at any festival in the world, where would you pick?
Who are your biggest musical influences?
We would cite a load of hardcore/screamo bands but I think our real influences come from Daniel Bedingfield, Snoop Dogg, or ‘anything with a good beat that I can tap my foot to.’
What would be your ideal tour line-up?
Any bands from Holy Roar’s roster will be fine.
What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?
Plenty of shows and our first official release later in the year. Exciting times!
